Thomas Hinton (printer)
Thomas Hinton was a printer in Cirencester who produced the first edition of the ''Cirencester Post or Gloucestershire Mercury'' in about October or November 1718.〔Plomer, Henry R. (1915) (A Short History of English Printing. ) 2nd edn. London: Kegan Paul, Trench, Trubner & Co., p. 209.〕〔("Notes on The First Bristol and Gloucestershire Printers" ) by F.A. Hyett in ''Transactions'' of the Bristol and Gloucestershire Archaeological Society, 1895-97, Vol. 20, 38-51.〕 He is known to have been active as a printer in the town between 1709 and 1724.
